Course Overview
This seminar provides practical information about the new features of Windows Server 2016 and Windows 10 for operation in your own data center. Special attention is paid to the basic administrative changes, which in addition to Windows Server 2016 include the Windows 10 client in many places:
- Compulsion to update ("Windows as a Service")
- Focus on command line administration and automation
- Miniaturization and hardening of the server
- Group Policy to customize Windows 10
- New installation paths: container images, Windows Server Apps (WSAs), UWP applications (on the client)
Main topics of the seminar are the tools for remote administration of the "headless" servers (RSAT, PowerShell), the application of group policies especially for update management and customization of the Windows 10 client, the configuration of highly scalable file servers, the miniaturized NANO server and Microsoft's implementation of Docker technology (Windows Server Container, Hyper-V Container) as well as tips and tricks for everyday life.
